Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, accessing, or using Show Face, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

These terms are an operational launch baseline and should be reviewed with the confirmed service operator and legal adviser before wider commercial release.

2. Eligibility and authority

You must have the legal capacity to accept these terms. If you use Show Face for an organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. Show Face is not designed for children, and a child must not use the service unless all legally required permission and safeguards are in place.

3. Your account

• Provide accurate and current registration and profile information.
• Keep passwords, devices, sign-in accounts, and access tokens secure.
• Do not share an account in a way that bypasses security or accountability controls.
• Tell the Show Face administrator promptly if you believe an account or device has been compromised.
• You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.

4. What Show Face provides

Show Face helps members organise contacts, private photos, meeting context, business-card information, connections, and related profile details. Some features may use facial matching, liveness checks, optical character recognition, social sign-in, or push notifications.

Features may be added, changed, limited, suspended, or removed as the service develops. A feature shown as planned, experimental, disabled, or unavailable is not a promise that it will be released.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

• use Show Face unlawfully, fraudulently, deceptively, or to harass, threaten, discriminate against, or harm another person;
• upload malicious code, probe security, bypass access controls, scrape the service, or interfere with its operation;
• impersonate another person or misrepresent an identity, relationship, consent, or authority;
• submit content that infringes privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property, publicity, or other rights;
• use facial recognition results as the sole proof of identity, eligibility, creditworthiness, employment suitability, or access to an essential service;
• attempt to reverse engineer biometric templates or provider references; or
• use Show Face to build an unauthorised surveillance, profiling, or identification database.

6. Other people's data and images

You are responsible for having an appropriate lawful reason, notice, and any required permission before adding another person's contact details, images, business card, meeting context, or biometric-related information. Do not upload sensitive or confidential material that you are not authorised to process.

If another person asks you to correct or remove content about them, you should respond appropriately and use Show Face's available correction, deletion, reporting, or privacy-request tools.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of content that you submit. You grant Show Face a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the service or comply with law. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable technical, audit, backup, and legal-retention periods.

You confirm that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and grant this limited licence.

8. AI, facial matching, and OCR limitations

Automated results are probabilistic and may be incomplete or wrong. Facial matching may produce false positives or false negatives, and business-card text extraction may misread information. You must review results before relying on, confirming, sharing, or acting on them.

Show Face does not provide identity certification, background checks, legal advice, or a guarantee that a person is who an automated result suggests.

9. Third-party services

Show Face may depend on services supplied by Amazon Web Services, Google, LinkedIn, Expo, Firebase, device platforms, and other infrastructure providers. Their own terms and privacy practices may apply when you use their features. Show Face is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control.

10. Show Face intellectual property

Show Face and its software, branding, design, documentation, and service content are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Except for the limited right to use the service under these terms, no ownership right is transferred to you. Do not copy, sell, sublicense, or create unauthorised derivative works from Show Face.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Show Face at any time and may request account deletion through the available account or privacy process. Show Face may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary to address a serious or repeated breach, security risk, unlawful conduct, harm to another person, or legal requirement.

Where reasonably possible and lawful, Show Face will provide notice or an opportunity to correct the issue. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination, including ownership, responsibility, disclaimers, and legal limitations, will survive.

12. Availability and changes

Show Face is provided on an as-available basis. Maintenance, provider outages, internet conditions, device limitations, security events, or development changes may interrupt the service. Show Face does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

If paid features are introduced, the price, billing period, cancellation rules, and any additional commercial terms will be disclosed before a charge is made.

13. Disclaimers and consumer rights

To the extent permitted by law, Show Face is provided without implied guarantees beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any mandatory right, remedy, guarantee, or protection available under applicable consumer or other law.

You remain responsible for verifying important contact, identity, business-card, meeting, and automated-result information before relying on it.

14. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Show Face and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or purely economic loss arising from use of or inability to use the service. Any limitation applies only as far as applicable law allows and does not limit liability that cannot legally be limited.

15. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The parties should first try to resolve a dispute in good faith through the Show Face administrator or project representative. Nothing in this section removes a user's right to use a court, tribunal, regulator, or other remedy available under applicable law.

16. Changes and contact

Show Face may update these terms when the service, risks, providers, or legal requirements change. The effective date will be updated when revised terms are published. Material changes should be communicated through the service or another reasonable channel.
